River Valley School District held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the new athletic complex at its high school campus in Burrell Township. The complex will include a football field, track, baseball and softball fields, and a fieldhouse. The fieldhouse will feature a weight room, training area, large group instruction room, a multipurpose room for wrestling and batting practice, and a classroom for the STEAM Academy’s Sports Medicine and Rehabilitative Therapy program.
The project also includes additional parking, seating for 2,600 fans, a concession area, and locker rooms. Completion of the project is set for the opening of the 2023 football season.
